Foam Kruk
FoamStool
The FoamStool is made form pourable soft foam with is molded in a “open face” mold. The open mold gives the stool a slightly different outcome every time, which makes every stool unique.
The soft foam maximizes the comfort and gives the user an ergonomic and active sit. This helps you to sit up straight.
On request available in different colors.
The FoamStool is the result of a search to bypass the making of upholstery in furniture. Looking for possibilities to make the process easier and more efficient, Studio Josha came to the idea of eliminating the upholstery completely.
The stool seat is made by using an open-top mould that lets the foam expand freely. Within the mould sits a baseplate. The expansion of the foam is pushing upwards which gives the seat an unique design. This expansion cannot be controlled and therefore each stool differs slightly from one another. The legs are welded on a metal baseplate which is screwed onto the wooden baseplate. This allows the legs to come of if desired.
The soft foam looks good, but sits great as well. The flexible foam seating encourages the user to sit upright in an ergonomically and ‘active’ position. FoamStool-owners therefore praise how comfortable this stool really is.
Multiple colors available on request. The FoamStool is the first result from this study, the next step will be the FoamChair. If you would like to know more about this and future designs, don’t hesitate to contact Studio Josha.
